Sharon,
Having read your story, it brings me a small curiosity.. did you two exchange
photographs by any chance in your course of correspondence??
If so, although not seeing each other in person, you have completed the
frame-work for 'sun' (not the shining sun, but a type of blind date) with
your aunt holding the tie. And if that's the case, things may be much more
complicated and serious because Korean men (especially in their late 20s and
early 30s) do take these things seriously. Plus, you shouldn't forget how
visual (sight-oriented) men are - did you send him a picture of Choi Jin-sil??
It is my "assumption" that your aunt WANTS you and the guy to be together -
or she thought you two might be good together - when she introduced him to
you in the first place. And you, through your letters and international
phone calls, concluded that he appears to be a fine gent and that he may be
worth getting to know better. And the fact is that he might feel the same way
about you, only with different intensity and intentions.
It seems to me that you didn't expect a casual pen pal to so suddenly turn
into a potential fiance or even a spouse.
Well, now the word of advise:
1. Follow (no..this is too strong of a word).. consider filix's advise.
It seemed like a pretty good advise.
2. You can file a complaint to your aunt who started this whole thing.
3. Don't get confused by all my garbage herein.
