Oneday when I went home to stuff myself, B came up to me and asked
"hobbes, what is fianse ?"
"fianse" I replied. "is hmm... someone who is engaged and is going to
marry him(her) soon enough." (Of course proudly :-) )
"But I can't find it in the dictionary."
"Hey! B! I suggest you consult the dictionary again."
(Of course mt dear readers, you may now understand that fianse and fiance
can't be discriminated by pronunciation.)
After 5 minutes, B came up to me again and shouted,
"Hey!! hobbes ! I was wrong with the spell... Why didn't you tell me
fianse is f-i-a-n-c-e not f-i-a-n-s-e."
"My dear B... The more difficult it is for you to find a word, the easier
you can remember it.. ok ?? hahaha."
She silently said "hobbes, you should know yourself first."
"Why ?"
"Why ? Last time you tricked me into finding a word meaning [someone who
is supposed to marry] and it meant nothing."
"Nothing ?? what do you mean ?"
"What do you mean ? The word you referred was [fiance] but you told me
[fianse] was correct. You wrote that on my notebook."
Alas!!! My ignorance always fails me.... Why I wrote that word on her notebook?
I promptly defended myself by saying "Oh!!!! I forgot!!
There must be some misunderstanding here... fianse is a French.. and fiance is
English. so I confused ... right ? hehehe"
She again said silently with smile. "hobbes, do you know what kind of
disciplines I learn in school ?"
"No.. what?"
"Korean, English, Math, Housekeeping, Arts, Music, and.... the most important
thing is.... French."
^^^^^^
The last word struck me so hard... :P
Oops... she knew fiance was French...
So my golden days of tricking my sisters were gone forever from then on..
And I had to buy her Pizza for that... (Oh ! my money!!)
