Originally conceived to cover Telnet locations, this list has steadily grown to cover pretty much any location with the exception of name servers and anonymous ftp sites. If you have something to add to this list, please send it to the address below. To use most locations on this list, you must have access to Internet. Most locations can be used with either the rlogin or telnet command. Both names and addresses (where possible) have been given. There are two commands which may be in use at your site. Either rlogin or telnet or both may be used. If both are there, sometimes one command responds better than the other one. Also, telnet usually has some sort of command mode that rlogin does not. If a port number is given, usually, you can just type a space and then the port number. On some systems, you type the address, and then /port=####. Some, but not all systems, accept names for addresses. I have given both the names and numbers where possible. On some systems, when you use the numbers, you need to type them in [brackets]. Above all, these systems exist and are not yours. Please be polite at all times because you are a guest and also so that in the near future, projects such as these will be encouraged. Some offer small scale versions of standard Internet sevices. Keep in mind that mail or articles posted on BBS's does not reach everyone in the world, and if you can get to UseNet, you will problably find better responses. Most of the files on these BBS`s can be found by anonymous FTP, so don't tie up the system with files if you have FTP.
